I will be leaving Entrecard soon

Yes, folks! I will be leaving Entrecard in a week time, or right after my ads will be posted as well as my pending advertisers. By the way, this is also the reason why I am now declining ads. Finally, I have made my decision after thinking about it for about 2 weeks ago. Actually, I started thinking about it around 2 months ago when I started my WP blog. If you will notice, I did not enroll it there. But what made me turned cold about Entrecard? How does the economy of Entrecard affect my decision?

I have been a member of Entecard since December of last year, and I must admit that I met a lot of good bloggers around in which most of them became my on-line buddies and friends. I also earned a few bucks (well, not that really few) from selling my points. Not to mention the contests I joined and won and without Entrecard, I may not be able to discover them. The best prize I won was a good interview by a fellow blogger who now I consider among my lifetime blogger friend.

With all of these, why will I still leave Entrecard? Well, besides I am very busy with other promotional techniques like joining forums, I am not seeing it anymore just like I used to. Please do not get me wrong, I know Graham and his associates are doing their best to keep Entrecard alive and I admire them for that. I cannot blame a single person or two for such kind of situation. Entrecard is a group of bloggers who have different point of views, beliefs and strategies.

So, why will I really leave Entrecard? Let’s just say that some good things never last, and I would rather leave than being together but unhappy. But don’t worry; I will not be leaving just like that. I am preparing a list of good blogs that I will be subscribing because I still want to read their posts. After all, this is the ultimate dream of Graham – to allow bloggers to read each others posts.

I will be posting the list within two to four days, so I hope you watch for it. Meanwhile, you may want to check out my main blog - Father Blogger dot Com. I will be glad if you will subscribe to it, as I will be posting there regularly and re-direct most of my upcoming posts there. Just inform me if you did. Who knows? I might also be subscribing to you.

Just to make myself clear, I am not requesting for a subscriber exchange as I will subscribe to anyone I like even if they will decide not to do the same.

In addition, I am not encouraging you nor discouraging you to stay. This is my personal decision and no one bribed or convinced me, as I believe that we should always follow our heart.

With this, I would like to end by saying “Thank you, Entrecard! You made my blogging experience colorful”.

At least you got to leave entrecard on your own terms. I was unceremoniously booted from it for having a 'list' of blogs on my site (all of which are mine). so adios entrecard.

Hi, Angel. I understand your reasons. I have not been very active in dropping lately, just because I am busy with other things and dropping has been the last of my priorities. I will, however, be grateful to Entrecard for making me know good people such as you. I look forward to your articles and try to visit as much as I can.

Good luck, and we'll still see more of each other here in the blogosphere!

I am afraid I have to agree and disagree. EntreCard has been good for me, I have been introduced to a lot of blogs that I would not normally see. However, rather than sell credits, I buy them - even through ebay.

I simply don't have the time to visit a hundred blogs per day to earn credits. Besides which, I probably spend 3-400 credits each day. Graham's price is way too high.

Without credits, I have no use for the system so it will be a sad farewell. It's unfortunate - I would have been happy to pay a small annual fee - say $20 - to stay with them if it was income they needed.

Shutting down the sale and exchange of credits and taxing the move of credits is a huge backward step which I think he may live to regret. I hope not.

cheers

BTW - I came across your blog through EC and have been a subscriber since that first visit.

I feel sad when reading this post. I have to admit that through our intense conversations on Entrecard messaging facility I have improved my English a lot. Well, I think you know what's best for you.

Doc Joey - Leaving Entrecard does not mean we will loose contact, and I will not even allow that.

Rest assured that I will still be checking your blog posts esp. to your Joey MD blog.

By the way, I do not know why your invitation to me to join the PPBC 9th edition was not posted here.

Anyway, I read it and will find time to join.

Thanks!

Hi Radicalb,

Like I said, EC has been a great part of my blogging career but it is NOT the one it used to be.

By the way, thanks for subscribing to me and I really appreciate that.

I want to visit your blog but there is no link to it from your name. I hope you can provide me one.

Regards.

Hi Mr Art,

Don't be sad, my friend. You are the one who introduced Entrecard to me and I really thank you for that.

Although EC has been a great help to us in terms of communication, I am sure that there are still and even better ways. We can use our email addresses, anyway.

We have been virtual friends for almost a year, and I will do everything to keep in touch with you.

I can't think of any reason for leaving entrecard as of this moment. So, I'll just stick around, hop, drop, advertise and read.

yup, the reason changes have left the community divided and I think it may not be good in th elong run but I hope that Graham and his fans would prove me wrong.

Cheers!

Sad to see that you're leaving Entrecard. I understand your reasoning because I have in fact thought about that also. If you think about it, building links will do you better in the long run than Entrecard. Same with talking in the forums. However, doing both is also good if you have the time. Sound likes you do not.

for me, it's the dropping that eats a lot of my time. so time consuming. i prefer reading than just dropping but it pays to discover nice blogs like yours thru EC. actually, i just don't get it why one should strive very hard to earn that much points. i understand the advertising side but for me, as a blogger who wants more to socialize and interact and share thoughts, dropping e cards almost makes no sense. it actually divides the attention between dropping e cards or reading the contents of a blog.

but i am not leaving yet.. it's discovering other blogs that makes it exciting. :-)

Mon - Thanks for subscribing and for all the support since day one we met. Mabuhay tayo, partner!

Taylor - Dropping of cards became my least priority around 2 months ago, as I am super busy with other things such as forum posting.

Hi Father Blogger,

Blogallo.com is right in saying that at least you ended your entrecard relationship on a good note. I visited a number of blogs days ago and found out that they were either suspended or deleted for entrecard purpose.

kahit walang entrecard, if you have a good number of visitors everyday who loves reading your content, mabubuhay pa rin ang blog mo. ;)

I just subscribed on this blog (today). I'd love to read more posts from a diplomatic blogger like you.

Yeah, sometimes you just have to prioritize, don't you? Good luck on your new venture...

Bingskee - You hit it right on my face. It's the difference between "dropping and dropping by" that really sucks.

I think I had enough of bloggers who only care of themselves. If they don't care about high bounce rate, then they don't care about traffic.

I really have no regrets in leaving, as I already reached my dream as an Entrecarder - to have friends, as in real virtual friends and I consider you among them.

Call center gal - I prepared myself for this, as I prepared myself to be a professional blogger. But I think I like your term better - diplomat blogger!

Thanks for confessing that you will be among my subscribers. That's a good choice, I hope.

Pink Ink - Yes, setting priorities is a must in anything that we do. Thanks and welcome here.

Hi Angel,
I can't say that I blame you. Emotionally I left Entrecard months ago. It is too time consuming, but I am grateful for the wonderful blogs in which I came across. You and I have a unique experience in which no other Entrecarders have. We experienced something much deeper than simply dropping cards. We had a real life experience which wont ever be forgotten. Your interview will serve as an inspiration to all who read it. Thanks and good luck with you endeavors.

I will miss you. I have always had a good feeling about you and your blogs and your participation at Entrecard.

Hi Angel, never knew about this since I usually drop by your other blog. I used to have about 3 blogs with EC's but now its down to 1. I have 2 blogs that I did not put any EC widget.

I think we share the same sentiment - all I can say is I find EC different from what it used to be. I must admit it used to be so much fun with EC, having written lots of articles about it. Entrecard dont give a bother anyway if they lose bloggers along the way - they're not that sensitive as well.

After all my contests are finished - I have also decided to follow suit. :-)

Hello,

I am at that point right now I wrote an entry saying I am leaving but I am not sure because I know I would loose ALOT of traffic and my blog would become almost a Virtural ghost town.

I stayed though the first time GRAHAM pulled all of his crap but I just dont know if I can make it though this one or not. the crap that they're pulling now is just appalling :(
