Visitors are the life of our blogs and without them, we are nothing. All of us are trying our best to have visitors especially the unique ones. Some are even spending money to invite them. But what good is a visitor if he is just passing by? If you are an Entrecard member, you do not want to have plain droppers, do you? I must admit, there are blogs I drop on then leave immediately. So if you think you are not convincing them, here are some of my ideas that may help.
Inspire them
It is not enough that you give them what they need. Unlike portals, blogs should contain more than just useful information. Note that most blogs are made by simple individuals and visitors are expecting to learn from other’s point of view. This is not an easy task because each visitor has different taste. You must find their weak points. Sharing your success stories on your blog with humility is a good example. It is easy to remember someone who can inspire us.

Hi Jenaisle,
You made me smile with your comments. I feel like 20 years younger.
Thanks for making my day.

Interesting! Some people are offended when someone drops and leaves and they beg for comments. But the truth is, most droppers aren't looking for new blogs to read, they're looking to get their blog out there and to increase traffic to their own blogs. So trying to get a dropper to comment is like shopping for a bikini in Alaska.
Plus, if your goal is to drop 300 a day, per blog, there's no time for commenting.
Oh, and if I can't think of anything to comment then I won't, the author needs a more interesting post.
...just a few of my thoughts
Happy Rockin' Friday!! :)

That is the most unique analogy I ever heard Frigga.

Awesome blog and great post! You definitely convinced me to read on :) Seriously though, as a dropper, I quickly scroll through a page, and if a title catches my attention, then I stop and read .. possibly add the rss feed to my reader, but definitely post a comment.
Needless to say, yours is one feed that I'm happy to subscribe to!

hey, i have been meaning to write something about this because it has been my observation the past months and days of being an entrecard member. most of them only wanted to drop and not leave a comment. i must admit that there are times i just drop or not drop at all because the post or the blog did not interest me. the tip of inspiring really can help. i hope everybody will stop by your blog and read these tips. they are truly valuable.

Dianne - It's really very heartwarming when someone visits yout blog and post a comment. It is also very seldom that my readers tell me that they will subscribe to me.
Readers like you inspires me a lot. Thanks for that.
Bingskee - Thanks for finding my posts valuable. However, I wish you left a link to your blog so I can also visit yours.

If you want your readers to read your posts then the first paragraph and the formatting of the post is also vital.Highlighting the important parts , sub headings go a long way in making your post readable.
June 24, 2008 at 9:08 PM
Hi Nishadha,
You're absolutely correct. This is what I am doing ever since - highlighting each sub topic.
Thanks for sharing your ideas.
