I am been blogging for more than a year, but I must say that I still have a lot of things to learn. I have been reading a lot by joining some forums and visiting other blogs. But while I am learning, I also learned some dirty tactics or should I say how some bloggers can fool fellow bloggers. They might be mad at me, but I do not care. All I know is that fellow bloggers especially newbies must be aware about this. Besides copying posts from other blogs and posting them on their own, here are other smart things some foolish bloggers do.
Getting credit from others’ forum posts
A forum member complained that his previous post was re-posted by another blogger. The foolish blogger was not smart enough that he even posted it on the same forum, the same category and did not even wait for a long time before doing so.

5 Smart Ways on how some Bloggers fool their Visitors
Why you should leave Entrecard
This post might be radical in nature and intriguing, but before you raise some eyebrows I suggest you read this from beginning to end. This is not anti-Entrecard post and on the contrary, this is about some members who do not realize the real purpose of Entrecard. Graham is repeatedly saying that Entrecard was created so that bloggers can visit each other’s blog while earning some points and making money out of them somehow. Being a very serious dropper, here are some of my suggestions and if you cannot follow them I will be happy not to see you at Entrecard.
You do not drop back
I have a long list of My Serious Droppers in which now have reached almost three hundred. Although I may not be dropping everyday, I try to catch up and none of them can say that my drop is less than 15 times a month. It is such frustrating that some of them did not bother to drop a card, not even once. I do not know their style of dropping but for sure they do not check their inbox. All I can do is to delete them and replace with potential ones.
Rejecting ads unreasonably
I have been seeing some post complaining that their ads has been rejected due to unreasonable causes. It also happened to me before when I was trying to place ads to newbies. I cannot believe that I have been rejected by the ones falling on the same category and the reason given was not clear. I strongly suggest that if you have some restrictions in accepting ads; specify the details so that advertisers will not waste their precious time.
You are not visible
I do not mind if your widget is not above the fold but for human’s sake, do not put it on the lowest part. What annoys me more is that the blog is very slow due to videos and images posted on the blog. I also noticed some widgets are getting me blind due to the same color of the template background. I therefore suggest that these members pause for a while and put themselves in the shoes of their droppers so they can understand what I am saying.
You are over criticizing
I noticed some bloggers who are over reacting with the changes Graham had made at Entrecard. Although I must admit that there are some things I do not agree, I try to be broad minded enough to understand that these changes are for the betterment of all the members and the admin as well. Entrecard is not perfect and will never be, but it still very useful because if it is not, then it would be that popular. So if you cannot say anything kind, you are free to leave us alone.
Again, these are only suggestions and not made to create any harm. But one thing is for sure, I love Entrecard and I am here to stay.

Problogger left Entrecard but giving away 36,723 credits

Yesterday, Darren Rowse the humble but one of the most influential blogger of all time announced that he left Entrecard. However, being also known as a generous internet business icon he is giving away all his present credits amounting to 36,723!
According to his recent post at Problogger, he is dividing them into three prizes of 12,241 credits for three winners who will post a comment on his post. The comment must include the URL of your favorite quality but undiscovered blog. You can make your descriptive comment up to 250 words, but you cannot choose his blog as well as yours.
As I mentioned in my last post, I am frequently posting comments on his posts because I find them very interesting and informative and I am proud to say that I am one of his thousands of subscribers. How I wish I could get a copy of his newly launched book that contains tons of tips on how to get a six-figure income through blogging.
With this, I joined his giveaway by sharing one of my admired blogs – Delve into the Mind of a Budding Blogger, a simple but adorable blog by Meghna who is a 12 year old Indian girl. This is because I know that this young student will grow into a respected writer and poet someday.
So if you are an Entrecard user, I hope you will not blow this once in a lifetime easy chance to gain credits and learn from the man who made a successful career out of blogging.

Finally, Entrecard allows Multiple Blogs!

I would like to reserve this post to update all Entrecard members about their latest feature. Now, we can add multiple blogs in a single account, or link your other existing blogs. I remember this issue was highly raised since they started, including me. This is because it is very hard for bloggers with multiple blogs like me (I used to have 3 blogs, but now it’s down to 2) to use different accounts for different blogs.
Anyway, it is now easy to switch from one blog to the other or simply adding a blog under your account. All you have to do is to click the Linked Blogs located at your dashboard and it will lead you there.
In addition, they have now released their official E-book where you can learn tons of strategies for members and newbies. Of course, it is free to download it anytime.
With all the intrigues and difficulties Entrecard is passing through recently, it is nice to know that Graham still finds time to improve their services. So I think I have no regrets in staying.

My Serious Droppers
As I have promised, I am back to update the list of my droppers.
This time, I will include all my droppers who dropped on this blog or to my other blog - Happy Family Matters. However, do not pout if your name is not included here. I am still checking my inbox regularly.
I will be checking this from time to time not just to include others but to remove others if they stop dropping for about a week without information through his post that he will be leaving for a while.
This is because I do not just drop; I read blog posts and even post comments if the topic is interesting. I hate bloggers who do not respect his readers by just leaving their blog. Z Solutions Inc. – Not An Entrecard!
While I am busy dropping off cards, I saw this Z Solutions Inc. widget on some blogs and because it has a logo of Entrecard with Drop on it, I dropped a card. To my surprise, I was brought to a site page entitled Making Money with the one of the Most Simple and Profitable Investment Opportunities: FOREX. The title itself obviously talks about Foreign Exchange and the author is inviting us to contact him through email if we are interested. Although the site owner might thank me for promoting his site for free, he is making a big mistake.
This is because this post is warning all Entrecard members that your site page is NOT an Entrecard member simply because you do not have an Entrecard. You are just using the logo hoping that someone will visit you. In fact, the blogs that have this ad has the legitimate Entrecard somewhere else on the blog. Nice try though. You have fooled me once but I will not allow to you to do that to me again. By the way, I suppose this ad is a member of Project Wonderful.
But I want to clear things. I am not saying that this ad has no legitimate content nor his business is not true. What I am unhappy about is how it is being promoted. Although I believe that a business should have a good strategy to invite customers, I also believe that this site should learn more about etiquette. If you have a good business offer, you do not need to use big names to visit you and confuse them. Your product will sell itself.
For blogs with this widget, I must inform you that you are also confusing your droppers. With this, I may NOT drop on you unless you do not have this confusing ad anymore. I think that is fair enough.
To Graham and Phirate of Entrecard, I know that you are now very busy revising the pricing method for the betterment of all, but please consider this trouble that is causing confusion to us.
To the owner of Z Solutions Inc., please use advertising with courtesy. For me, the way you promote is a direct insult to all Entrecard members. With this, I am appealing to you to modify your ad. I am sure you can find other ways to encourage visitors and if you do, who knows? I might visit you again and be even interested in your offer.
Am I being too harsh? I do not think so. I am just trying to be humane.

Sitehopping – A Better Way to Entrecard Dropping?

While I was busy dropping cards and reading posts, I noticed that more and more blogs have this widget from Sitehopping.com. I thought this is just another blog who does it good in placing ads on blogs. However, I started to read blog posts about it and some bloggers even invited me to join them. I was hesitant because it might be another burden for me but I will not get something in return. Not until I read this very interesting post at Josh's Unconventional Marketing Blog. This made me visit the blog and took time to read their offer. Here is what I found out.
Free Traffic
After you signed in, you may be able to get free traffic through beer credits. Yes, beer credits my friends and they admit that they actually drink beer at work because they work in an apartment where they treat it like home. Anyway, these beer credits can be earned through multiple ways. But what surprised me is you can earn them through site hopping or visiting other blogs like we do at Entrecard. Other means of earning credits are by rating the blogs, placing comments, blog submission and for the biggest points, putting their widget on your blogs. You can also win them if you will be the King of Hops.
So what are they for? For every 10 beer credits, you will gain 1 unique visitor through their beer algorithm. As of this posting, you just need a minimum of 4 beer credits or more than 3 beers on the wall. This means the higher beer credits or number of beers you have on the wall, the greater chance your blog will be chosen first. Getting more interested?

Earn money
I suppose that this is what you are hoping for to read. All members are invited to buy beer stocks from them as investment. The principle is the same as any Stocks Exchange. You can wait until it grows or you can sell them later or immediately after buying them. You can also use them to promote your blogs. Furthermore, as a beer stocks holder, you are also entitled to be their affiliate member. Well, I think that make sense. I do not have these beer stocks yet but hopefully I can have some soon.
Now is it a better way to Entrecard dropping? Dropping cards while earning beer credits and gaining free traffic, why not? However, I just enrolled my blogs yesterday so I cannot say yet that it is really effective for me. Anyway, I will be monitoring its performance and just like what I am doing for Entrecard, I will try my best to update you some other time.

What I am Gaining from Entrecard
I have made a couple of posts about Entrecard since I joined in. This includes how maximize it and how to convince users to read our blog posts. But one might ask me, what am I really gaining from Entrecard? For sure, it is not direct money because I am not selling my points, not yet. Although I have already showed the graph of my current standing recently, it is better if I go deeper here.
While it is true that chain droppers cannot be avoided, I was surprised to see my recent statistics. By using statcounter, you can see at the bargraph that I am now enjoying a minimum of 110 unique visitors a day. This has not yet happened to me before. But again, there is an issue of drop and run. This is the reason why I checked the visit length. On the pie chart, you will see the yellow portion which is 23.9% are the ones who stays longer while 65.9% are the chain droppers. Although I have also visitors from other networks, the Recent Came From stats shows that most of them definitely came from Entrecard.
Now, I would like to mention the names of high profile bloggers that I met through Entrecard. I also consider them my friends not only because they drop their cards on my blogs, but also for some very good reasons.

Joan Joyce dot com– Another Filipina blogger who also helped me explained about Paypal and EON.
Mr. Javo dot com – There are many bloggers who invited me to join their contests, but it was his contest that I joined in. It is actually his birthday treat and fortunately, I won a 300 x 250 banner on his posts which will last for a month.
But recently, it was Amanda of Blogger Buster whom I found very interesting. This is because through her useful posts, I am learning on how to improve the looks of my Blogger blogs. Although there are plenty of them, I am only including those I used and planning to use.
A Drop Down Menu for Labels
If you will notice, both of my blogs are now using it. This definitely increased the space of my sidebar.
Top Commenters Widget
This is to give credits to our regular readers who are taking time to post some comments on our posts. Now, you can see them at my sidebar.
Three Column Footer
To minimize the contents of our sidebar, we can transfer some of them at the footer section. Amanda provided simple instructions on how to do it and you can check my footer. I will improve it later.
Expandable Posts
It is a technique where you can have a teaser about your posts. Your readers will then click the link at the end to view the whole post. The good thing about this is your readers can readily see series of your recent posts without going to the next page. A good example is Article Specialist's Blognetwork although the whole post is on his other blogs. I am planning to do this later.
Of course, I also would like to thank other bloggers who posted wonderful recommendation for my blogs. I am planning to make another post about you together with the top droppers and the blogs where my widget gained a lot of visits.

How to Maximize the Power of Entrecard Dropping
I must admit, I am now taking dropping very very seriously as my Drop rank describes me. On the left is the current statistics of this blog. Actually, I am using a lot of strategies before but they do not seem to work out. Fortunately, my good friend Article Specialist unselfishly shared some of his techniques to me. This is the reason why this blog is improving in terms of visitors and quality traffic. And because of this, I would like to share them with you.
1.0 Prioritize your inbox. They are the ones who drop their cards to you. You can find the recent ones in the upper portion of your dashboard. If you will like to see the older ones, just click the Drops Inbox and it will lead you to them. By doing this, they will be glad because you are returning the favor. This is also known today as Recipro-Drops. Before you know it, they may be your regular visitors. They may not have the same category as yours but who knows, they may be interested in your posts later. It worked for me.
2.0 Drop at the same category. This is very useful because if you become regular droppers for each other, you will be creating a good harmony with them. Hence, you will learn from them and vice versa. This is simply because you have common interest of topics. I must say that some of my readers today came from the drops by using this strategy. I am also visiting them regularly and even subscribe to some that I found useful to me. However, I strongly suggest that you make your blog speedy and position your card well.
3.0 Advertise wisely. Advertising on a blog that has the higher price does not follow that your ads will do well. If the blog has low volume of followers, your ads may not sell. So you must view the blog first. Otherwise, you will just be another victim of junk traffic. Apparently, there are new members who are already doing well before they joined Entrecard. In addition, you may also check the Unseen ones in which you can find in the campaign section. But of course, it is better if you place your ads on blogs that is stable and in the same category. View and analyze your statistics regularly.
4.0 Socialize with others. This is the main reason why Entrecard was made, for us to read each other’s blogs. Although I am recently dropping my card to about 250 blogs a day, it is taking me long hours just to finish because I read blogs. I even provide valuable comments and recommendations if they are worth for. I also meet cool bloggers who are patiently taking their time to answer my questions. But of course, I also drop and run if the blog content is not valuable for me. That is why content is the really the king.
5.0 Maximize your credits. There are other ways to use your Entrecard points to increase traffic other than placing ads Sponsoring a contest is one of them. They have also this shop where you can buy something out of your points. You can also help other bloggers. I remember one occasion that I contributed 300ec to a fellow blogger who lost her husband.
In addition, I am now running a contest in which the prize is 2,000+ Entrecard points and each entry will receive 100ec instantly. I just hope this could help me more as well to others especially to new members.

Although some may say that Entrecard is not helping them, I believe that just like any other networking site, you just need to learn the techniques that will work for you. Why you should visit the Blog Network of Article Specialist
This is the first time that I am writing a second post for a particular blog. This is because I cannot help but share to you the wonderful feeling I am enjoying and of course, the traffic it is giving me continuously.
Since I made the first post about him last December 5, 2007, the authors who submitted quality articles to his Article Highlight directory increased from 1,376 to 2,484 and the quality articles submitted rapidly increased from 19,005 to 29,397.

How to convince Entrecard Users to read your Blog
Entrecard users are almost everywhere and numerous contests are being held to give away Entrecard points just to get visitors to their blog. If I may say it correctly, more bloggers are promoting Entrecard more than promoting their blogs. It is unfortunate that it is actually happening. For the record, this is not what Entrecard man Graham Langdon’s appeal when interviewed by Darren Rowse of Problogger. With this, here are some suggestions you may want to think about.
1.0 Re-locate the Entrecard. Place it in the middle of your blog, and not on the top most. By doing this, your reader can have time to glance your post before dropping a card. Do not let that small card be more attractive than your blog. After all, your readers know that there is an Entrecard in your blog. I now seldom see a blog without it.
2.0 Make your blog faster to open. I must admit, I am one of those who drop a card and click on it even before the blog finally opens. This is because it took my patience off waiting while there is a chance to drop a card. I suppose all of us know the importance of the first eight seconds of a blog, with or without an Entrecard.
3.0 Make your contest more sensible. Many contest holders are giving away Entrecard points by simply asking them to promote the contest and mind you, leaving a comment is a requirement. Now, where does the king content go from there? I just hope the next contest that I will see has deeper sense so I can religiously join.
4.0 Use your card properly. If your Entrecard is being advertised on a blog that is not within your category, your posts will not be even be noticed. The reader will then click on the card or simply back off. Furthermore, dropping a card to a blog that is not somehow related to your blog does not make sense. You may have a lot of visitors but not to read your blog, but just merely a card dropper.
5.0 Maximize the card. The card is only 125 x 125 and it will be useless if you do not maximize it. Although it looks attractive when you use wonderful pictures or caricature in it, but again your purpose is for your readers to read your post, not just a place for advertisements. It is much better if you include your blog title or a phrase that would define the content of your blog.
Striking an iron when it is still hot is good. But if you do not know how to strike it, then your arm might be hit.

How To Maximize Your Entrecard
There is no doubt that Entrecard is getting hotter these days. In fact, you can find it in so many blogs and forums. I myself made a short post about it. Although there are some who criticize and removed their cards from their site, more and more bloggers are still joining. However, I just learned some things how to maximize its usage:
1.0 Make your Entrecard more clickable. Instead of using one of their usual Entrecard style just like I used to have, my mentor and friend advised me to use an uploaded image from my own collection of pictures. But you can also create your own stylish caricature with your blog name of course. Please take note that they are only allowing a 125 x 125 picture.
2.0 Do not foget to drop your card or advertise on major blogs that are members of Entrecard which you can choose from on their Campaign page. You can visit many sites while promoting your own blogs. Please visit their site on how to do it.
3.0 Join their contest. They have this contest wherein you can buy from their store, using your Entrecard points of course. There will be six winners, and content will run until December 27, 2007 only. So, visit their blog at once for more details. It is a good chance to increase your traffic that must not be missed out.
